how we started

Our Key Milestone

1990
The Spark of Innovation

The journey began in May 1990, when Dr. Chaitanya A. Patel, a practicing gynecologist with a deep passion for farming and nature, conceived the idea of an eco-friendly cultivator that could reduce physical and economic strain on Indian farmers.

2005
First Patent: Bullock-Driven Multi Drill Cultivator

After 15 years of trials and perseverance, the first patent was granted in 2005 for a bullock-driven Multi Drill Cultivator (I.P. No. 224088), developed despite limited technical support and funding. Also Patented in USA.

2010
Improved Version Patented

A refined version of the cultivator was patented in 2010 (I.P. No. 298143), incorporating better engineering and usability. However, with the gradual disappearance of bullocks from farms, the innovation faced an uncertain future.

2020
A Turning Point During COVID

During the pandemic, with clinical work halted, a new idea emerged — thanks to a suggestion from Dr. Patel’s wife, Dr. Geeta. The concept of adapting the original machine to be tractor-driven took shape.

2022
Birth of MDCR (Multi-Drill Culti Rotavator)

On June 1, 2022, the tractor-driven MDCR was officially patented (I.P. No. 398374). Designed to perform cultivation and rotavation in a single pass, this breakthrough machine saves up to 66% diesel and time, while boosting productivity and reducing pollution.

2023
Trials, Optimizations & Recognition

Field trials across diverse soil types confirmed the MDCR’s exceptional performance. A second, improved version of the machine is currently in the patent pipeline. The innovation has already received awards and appreciation for its role in sustainable agriculture.

2025
Scaling Innovation, Reaching Farmers Nationwide

In 2025, Bhanujit MDCR expanded its digital presence and partnered for broader outreach. The team also began upgrading the MDCR with next-gen technology — with a new patent soon to be filed, marking the next leap in its evolution.
